Construction of Bluejay House #1 started fall of 2016 with a goal to have students at Merrill High School sign up for the Tech ED Construction Class. The cost of the building materials and construction blueprints are provided by the Housing Authority of Merrill Wisconsin. Several contractors donate their time to provide hands on training in electric, plumbing, and heating to students with the hopes that the students will pursue careers in these industries.
Upon completion of construction of the 3 bedroom house it was moved to a 1102 Van Buren St.
